Assistant Accountant

You Will:

  • Prepare accounting entries, support month-end closing and assist the team to prepare full-set of account
  • Assist the review of AP requests to ensure adherence to best practices and corporate governance; communicate closely with internal stakeholders to resolve the AP issues and enquires in a timely manner
  • Review invoice payment requests include validating the data and the accounting booking of expenses
  • Assist to prepare regular bank reconciliation and any ad-hoc reports analysis and reconciliation
  • Assist in handling withholding tax reporting/filing and ensure proper accounting treatment in local books
  • Support the Finance team in ad-hoc projects include setting up and maintaining fixed assets register and implementing controls to ensure assets custodianship
  • Support the set up and implementation of Finance-related policies and procedures
  • Assist in other ad hoc administrative and clerical duties as requested such as checking staff reimbursements

You should have/be:

  • Degree or Higher Diploma in Accounting, Business or related discipline
  • Minimum 3-5 years' relevant experience in AP and G/L booking with exposure to Art and Cultural related NGOs or social service settings is a plus
  • A good team player with positive work attitude, independent, detail-oriented, capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines and a fast learner

Artistic Planning Administrator

You will

  • Maintain the annual planning schedules for current and future years, incorporating the program of Contemporary Art, Performing Arts and Heritage teams
  • Support in research, planning, programming, budgeting and production of new creative projects outside the scope of the programming teams
  • Provide secretariat services to the Program Committee, including scheduling committee meetings, as the contact point for Committee members, establishing agendas, collating and timely distributing written papers and meeting materials, and coordinating presentations from programming teams
  • Provide support for any other ad hoc committees or working groups that the Director may form in the development of new programming or strategic initiatives (such as accessibility or youth programming)
  • Oversee Culture Counts audience surveys, including establish annual survey plan, align survey content with strategic goals, analysing post-survey data, maintaining a database of survey insights, and contributing survey results for internal and external reports
  • Assist in identifying Hong Kong creative artists, performers or creative industry professionals with potential for development through the Company’s programs; and in identifying development needs and opportunities for junior staff in the Company; contribute to the education and development of the whole staff through curating and producing Company Inmates program

You should have/be

  • Bachelor Degree in Art/Cultural Studies or relevant disciplines
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in arts administration, specifically planning and organizing programs that encompass more than one artistic discipline
  • Experience in designing and maintaining detailed end-to-end planning documents or using planning software
  • Outstanding project management, research, communication and negotiation skills
  • A good team player, creative and commit to excellence, with a deep knowledge of the arts scene in Hong Kong and a broad understanding of the arts internationally

Senior Procurement Manager

You will:

  • Lead the Procurement department to provide end-to-end strategic procurement and sourcing activities of the company through centralized sourcing and procurement management to support the business operations and special projects
  • Proactively identify best-in-class goods and services that enable the company to be the destination for passionate art and culture enthusiasts
  • Drive efficient and effective procurement and plan the demand for various categories across the company to meet the needs of business requirement
  • Drive effective supplier performance management and strengthen governance on suppliers account management through enhanced due diligence checks. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships that make the company a customer of choice
  • Drive the implementation of high-performing strategic procurement and category management that delivers best value for company 's procurement spend. Conduct demand planning reviews, drive effective insights from spends and ensure appropriate category knowledge and data are maintained, incorporated into the strategies
  • Drive transformation of the procurement team, manage changes in transformation journey and provide up-to-date professional expertise and advice on procurement transformation
  • Develop sourcing strategies and identify new market trends to expand or consolidate current supply base to support future needs
  • Ensure strategies are aligned with published governance levels and fulfill the compliance requirements
  • Ensure opportunities for innovation are fully evaluated and, where appropriate, introduced / implemented into the business

You should have / be:

  • Bachelor degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or relevant disciplines
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in procurement, buying or project management, including a minimum of 10 years’ managerial experience in procurement. Prior exposure in global corporation, NGO, public and/or cultural sector would be an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of category management in one or more of the categories including but not limited to Arts and Heritage
  • Relevant experience in e-Procurement system development and operation

Senior Training Officer

You will:

  • Assist in conducting training needs analysis, sourcing and recommending relevant training programs to support the talent development plan of the organisation
  • Liaise with internal departments and external training consultants to plan and implement various training programs
  • Prepare training evaluation summary and propose follow up actions for continuous improvement
  • Administer training application and maintain accurate training record.  Prepare training dashboard for management review
  • Support the UAT and enhancement of the training module in the HRIS System
  • Keep track of industry development trends and take the initiative to understand and explore new training initiatives
  • Support internship and management trainee programs
  • Provide logistic support for training and staff engagement activities

Associate Curator – Heritage Learning & Community Outreach

You will:

  • Open up new horizons for heritage learning and impart knowledge about Tai Kwun and broader cultural heritage in an engaging manner
  • Design and manage a variety of learning programs to cater diverse leaners’ needs, including primary and secondary school students, adults, and professionals
  • Work with teachers, curators, and specialists to develop contents and learning materials (onsite and online) for learners of different age groups; conduct teachers’ workshops to develop pedagogy
  • Build and maintain active relationships with educational, professional, civic, and government organizations, staying abreast of collaborative opportunities and cultivating external support
  • Supervise and manage staff to implement programs, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration
  • Handle administrative duties including program planning, budget, engagement with active partners and stakeholders
  • Participate in the development of open-access digital platforms to archive research output and disseminate online learning resources
  • Design heritage-related outreach activities to strengthen community connection and broaden the audience base, including the marginalized groups; collaborate with external specialists to broaden learning opportunities for those with special needs

You should have/be:

  • Postgraduate degree in relevant discipline; research specialties in heritage conservation, history, cultural studies, and/or social anthropology preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in formal education and/or informal education in the arts and cultural sector
  • Ability to interpret scholarship from various disciplines for the general public and to engage on a wide array of topics
  • Knowledge of learning practices and pedagogical innovation
  • Strong network and contacts with stakeholders in the education, government, and nonprofit sectors
  • Relevant experience in working with community stakeholders, able to deal with groups of people

Assistant Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop and implement a mechanism to track programming expenditure in a multi-year time frame with clear value and cost analysis and to monitor the performance and progress of individual departments to facilitate management decision making as well as KPIs monitoring
  • Finalise and update company and finance related Policies & Procedures in close collaboration with all stakeholders and develop effective accounting procedures and related process flows to address both risks and efficiency
  • Work closely with concerned parties to finalize the principles, procedures, policies, workings and mechanisms of the Custodian Fund, and address the long-term asset health needs and other heritage needs of the organisation
  • Develop an improved budget and forecasting system to allow greater accuracy in overall financial planning and project cost management
  • Foster interdepartmental collaboration in carrying out strategic financial initiatives of the organisation, build and manage strong relationship with all stakeholders and assisting in set up of a Fixed Assets Register and System Module to reinforce assets accountability and custodian control
  • Support the identification and implementation of automation opportunities & process re-engineering to enhance compliance and efficiencies of the business as a whole.
  • Support future system upgrade & transformation project and the implementation of the Policy & Procedures
  • Support industry research and cross-departmental assignments, both qualitative and quantitative
  • Study and recommend changes required in the finance module to support all enhanced real-time accounting reporting and monitoring, to allow management to make dynamic business decisions

You should have/be:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant disciplines with CPA or Charter Accountant qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in finance or accounting industry with in-depth knowledge of financial processes and operations. Big 4 experience is an advantage
  • Hands-on experience in core process of re-engineering projects, including ERP feasibility study & project implementation, and experience in financial modelling and activity based financial analysis

Chinese Editor

You will:

  • Edit Chinese-language text, fact-check, and proofread content related to exhibitions, public programmes, print publications, and other activities of Tai Kwun Contemporary
  • Edit content for Tai Kwun Contemporary print publications and contribute to the editorial direction of books
  • Develop and maintain the style guide to ensure a consistent editorial policy and tone of voice
  • Procure and liaise with third-party translators, copyeditors, and other vendors to ensure timely and high-quality content delivery
  • Work closely with internal parties and departments to ensure consistency in content and language of all published materials
  • Work with curatorial and learning teams to edit and occasionally produce written material content
  • Review and craft concise and friendly visitor interface copies

You should have/be:

  • Bachelor Degree in Chinese, Journalism, Art History, Visual Culture Studies or relevant discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as editor in museum or equivalent field including journalism and publication related to art, design or visual culture
  • Solid experience in collaborating with stakeholders to produce published materials related to exhibitions, public programmes, or learning programmes
  • Have in-depth experience and knowledge of managing editorial processes and workflows
  • Experience in developing and implementing editorial policies and guidelines
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English

Associate Curator – Education & Public Programmes

You will:

  • Plan, support and implement Tai Kwun Contemporary education and public programmes, and other learning and experience programmes for different audience groups
  • Plan and organise public events, including lectures, panels, screenings, etc. Support the team in leading and guiding interpretation of exhibition and art
  • Liaise with and work closely with artists, curators, educators and scholars to develop ideas of programmes. Create a far and wide-reaching school and teachers’ network through events and school tours
  • Conduct background research and assist in ideas and texts about learning materials, booklets, and other publications, including copyediting for Editor/Project Manager
  • Contribute ideas, texts, and other materials for website and promotional channels, especially in relation to exhibition interpretation and public programming
  • Prepare budget planning, forecasting and reporting. Handle enquiries from artists/ public and maintain good relationship with partners and service providers
  • Coordinate with other internal departments for different projects. Handle internal workflow for procuring service providers. Ensure works are delivered timely and the quality is to the entire satisfaction and best interest of Tai Kwun 

You should have/be:

  • Bachelor Degree in Art, Cultural Studies or relevant discipline
  • Minimum 7 years’ work experience in art administration, planning and organising programmes with previous exposure in contemporary visual art institutions.
  • Experience in translation / interpretation is preferred
  • Good project management, research, communication and negotiation skills

Assistant Curator

You will:

  • Work closely with Senior Curator and Exhibition Team on planning, development and implementation of contemporary art exhibitions
  • Conduct research with guidance from senior curator to identify programme opportunities
  • Handle exhibition-related administrative duties including budget, contract administration and loan procedures
  • Handle internal workflow for procuring service providers
  • Coordinate with the curatorial, exhibition and registrar team to ensure the communication and project timelines are synchronized with other departments of Tai Kwun.
  • Coordinate with active partners, stakeholders and service providers to ensure timely delivery and satisfactory quality of work
  • Maintain good relationship with artists, partners, and service providers
  • Ensure works are delivered timely and the quality to meet the satisfaction and best interest of Tai Kwun

You should have/be:

  • Bachelor Degree in Art, Museum Studies, Cultural Management, Art History or relevant discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in contemporary art related institutions and entities with hands on experience in research, exhibition execution, artwork production, and project management
  • Good project management, time management, communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese

Senior Curator - Heritage

You will: 

  • Work closely with the Head of Heritage to set strategic directions for the department
  • Propose, curate and organize heritage-related exhibitions to tell compelling heritage-related stories
  • Conduct scholarly research, develop curatorial interpretation and publication to realize projects
  • Participate in the development of transdisciplinary projects in collaboration with other departments of Tai Kwun Arts where applicable, engaging specialists from various disciplines to facilitate knowledge transfer to the public through innovative heritage programming
  • Handle administrative duties including programme planning, budget, loan procedure, and coordination with active partners and stakeholders
  • Supervise and provide curatorial training for junior staff
  • Contribute to the development of open-access digital platform to archive research and exhibition and to disseminate learning resources

You should have/be:

  • Postgraduate degree in Heritage Conservation, Art History or relevant disciplines, PhD degree preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years’ curatorial experiences with a research specialization in heritage studies, heritage conservation, art and culture, history, sociology and anthropology preferred 
  • Relevant experience in developing and implementing exhibitions or other creative projects
  • Creative thinking with multitasking skills and good time management. Excellent stakeholder management skills

Visitor Experience Associates

As a knowledgeable Visitor Experience Associate reporting to Operations, you will:

Focus on delivering an excellent visitor ‘transformative experience’ to make Tai Kwun “the vibrant heart of Hong Kong” by positively interacting with visitors as an ambassador in the first welcoming point of contact in Tai Kwun.  You will also play an essential service role providing informed and knowledgeable advice about site-wide events, heritage tours, specific exhibitions and performances that offer visitors the full range of excellent cultural opportunities at Tai Kwun.

  • Support counter daily operations at Visitor Centre, Gallery Reception and ushering in other event areas
  • Proactively greet visitors, guide and guarantee excellent visitor experience and conduct survey
  • Handle face-to-face enquiries and comments at Visitor Centre, Art Gallery Reception, or designated locations in a professional manner
  • Handle phone-in or write-in enquiries and comments and other contingency duties in a professional manner
  • Perform daily ticketing, sales activities, cash box and inventory management in Visitor Centre and designated locations.
  • Guide thematic exhibitions tours and/or education tours
  • Perform any ad hoc duties when required

You should have/be:

  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree in hotel & tourism management, education, cultural studies, history or other related disciplines
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Customer Service with exposure in related sector is preferred.  Having 1 years’ experience in performing arts venue setting, gallery or hospitality will be an advantage
  • Specific Experience in a role that will bring a ‘public facing’ advantage to front-line service quality in a public setting including -
    • Hotel, Hospitality or In-Flight services
    • Front line support roles Front Desk, Service Hotline and routine service quality monitoring or inspection

Wellness

We believe employees’ health and well-being are key to an organisation’s success. Therefore, we continuously organise activities to promote health consciousness and employee wellness, including a Laughter Yoga Class, Calligraphy Workshop, Tai Chi Class, Meditation Class, Massage Session and Christmas Party, among others. To celebrate Tai Kwun’s 1st Anniversary, we organised a Yoga Class, Health Talk, Snack Booth and Balloon Twisting Workshop for staff to enjoy. We encourage staff to live a healthy lifestyle by providing up-to-date health information. Fresh lemons are provided daily in our pantry for drinks and fruit is also supplied on a regular basis. During the Wellness Week, staff participate in and attend the Health Booth as well as One-to-One Chinese Medicine Consultation.

We also encourage a healthy work-life balance and have been dedicated to staff engagement. To promote and enhance employee mental health, we provide Professional Counselling services to our colleagues.

Training & Opportunity

We focus on staff training and development, aiming to equip our talent staff with the required operational knowledge and skills to perform their job effectively.

We organise new hire orientations and induction programmes to onboard staff as well as mandatory safety training for all employees. Team building workshops and strategic planning workshop are held to enhance the bond between teams and unleash their potential and talent. We also arrange Soft Skills training, English Writing Training and e-learning to cope with staff’s training needs.

So that staff members can gain even greater exposure to the heritage, culture and arts scenes of Hong Kong, we have organised visits to heritage sites and art galleries. Sponsorship is also provided to staff who attend external job-related courses.
