An Evening of Music and Animated Wonder

The interweaving of murmuring voices, strings, beats, and rhythms seamlessly merges into the audience's ethereal memories, akin to a dream. This medley injects a variety of musical elements into Kongkee’s science-fiction extravaganza.

"Delusion Beat" is inspired by Kongkee's comic Dragon’s Delusion, where Qu Yuan transforms into an electronic guitarist. In a world filled with endless desires, he uses music to enlighten souls who have been eroded by these desires. Kongkee also envisions Qu Yuan's soul reincarnating 2,000 years later, awakening in a cyberpunk rock world.

For this extraordinary musical event, Tai Kwun Contemporary will invite Veegay, the music director of Dragon’s Delusion — Preface, along with pianist and violinist K Tsang, vocalist Wynne Lo, and DJ Shelf-Index, who will be performing live music together.

Join us for this evening of music and animated wonder!

Quotas are limited, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Veronica Lee, aka Veegay, is a renowned composer and engineer in Hong Kong. Having graduated in The Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in Music, Veegay has a successful 30-year career in music composition for movies, theatre, stage, live performance and commercial projects.

Her music is poetic, cinematic, elegant and diverse, ranging from neo-classical composition to electronic sound design, from Shibuya Kei to Trip Hop. She is often praised for her musical know-how, skillset in Music Production, and her charm and energy in live performances.

Having debuted as an indie singer-songwriter, K Tsang has been participating in various music productions and concerts. He also collaborated with pop figures like Candy Lo, Serrini, Vicky Fung and Dark Wong. Besides experience in pop film music production, K Tsang is also a piano teacher with more than 15 years of experience.

Wynne Lo is a passionate vocalist, songwriter, and musician who discovered her love for singing at the age of 9. She began playing guitar at 13 and composing music at 19. After graduating from a US university, she returned to Hong Kong and joined a local band as the lead vocalist. With support from the "Youth Creation Funding Scheme," Wynne released her debut solo EP, "Brave and Timid." While working as a full-time data engineer, she continues to pursue her musical interests, recording demos and contributing to film soundtracks in her spare time.

Having started out on noise / sample manipulation, Shelf-Index switched gear to explore the possibilities on DJing by participating in different crews and events. With his deep love of cultural clashes and the exploration of possibilities, he picked up the duties to curate the FreeSpace Festival in 2014, bringing in artists such as DJ Rupture and Howie Lee for local collaborative performances. He also initiated the annual Canton Party series alongside like-minded DJs / musicians such as Stef:Funn / Yuen Chi-Chung/ Elphonso Lam.

From 2015 to 2017 he worked on the audio/visual project “Gravity Alterstra” with Alok and vocalist Janni, actively performing in festivals and live events. He has been sharing the same stage with artists such as Lee Gamble, Zuir, Abyss X, Minor Science, The Glitch Mob. And has been actively doing collab or remix projects with artists such as Sophy Wong, Pong Nan, Subyub Lee, WRACK and Betty Apple, inserting his aggressive sound aesthetics into different genres and styles.

He is currently running a monthly program “Cheaper Than Therapy” with co-host BusyBoi on FM belowground, a community radio project hosted by Yeti Out.
