Here’s your step-by-step guide for using the DAAP to build a digital archive of your artists’ books on the open platform.
In this workshop—aimed at artists, art archivists, book sellers, educators, historians and publishers, including those with a keen interest in Asian art—participants will learn how to catalogue their own materials using the Digital Archive of Artists’ Publishing (DAAP).
This interactive, user-driven, searchable database is a hub for creative practitioners focusing on books and publications as a medium of artistic expression.
In the workshop, you will learn:
-
How to set up an account
-
How to upload your own artists’ books and publications
-
Guidance in the choices you might make whilst uploading
-
Discussion of the ethical challenges facing archival practice
-
Key features of the DAAP that try to address these concerns
You will need: a desktop computer or a laptop (you cannot upload via a mobile device – but can view the results), internet access, and your artists’ publications. The workshop does not require any prior knowledge of archival databases or content management systems.
Note: this programme will be a hybrid event (online with onsite elements). In the case of enhanced COVID restrictions, this event will take place completely online.
