Touch Ceramics will follow the safety guides from the Department of Health, class will be separated into small groups, with a maximum 2 people per table. All tools and materials will be sanitised. Flower Tour - Flower Life Aesthetics Exhibition

The springtime brings us the symphony of the sights and sounds of the natural world,  it is refreshing to enjoy the flowering season. Touch Ceramics are honoured to invite 11 ceramists from Japan and Taiwan, curated by founder of gourmet and lifestyle brands, Shadow Kwan, to showcase an art collaboration in 2021.04.13 - 2021.05.04 -  Flower Tour - Flower Life Aesthetics Exhibition, to present simple life aesthetics from the perspectives of flowers.

First sight - the aesthetics of Sogetsu Ikebana

The Sogetsu Ikebana in Japan expresses the natural beauty and artistic conception of flowers. By arranging the main branches of flowers to forms a triangle shape, as well as forming blank space with the flowers, branches, and leaves, it lets viewers feel the beauty of tranquility and simplicity in the space freely.

In the workshop, the instructor will share the basic skills of the Sogetsu Ikebana, such as the usage of kenyama, the angle, proportion, length and combination of flower branches and leaves. Participants can master a method of arranging flowers to express beauty, and they can enjoy the fun of the Japanese art of flower arrangement.

Porcelain Painting class

People who like painting and porcelain would always like to combine these two beautiful arts, and they will easily fall in love with the elegant and graceful porcelain painting. In the porcelain painting workshop, students can learn about the traditional decorating style in this kind of art. By referring to the European flower painting, students will be taught about the different kinds of brushstrokes of these flower paintings, and eventually have your own piece made.
