Serendipity in the Street highlights the folk wisdom in adaptive use of space in Central. A series of family workshops will be held during the exhibition period. Inspired by the observation methods and sharings in the exhibition, the workshops encourage participants to observe their daily lives with new perspectives, and to reimagine the possibilities of space use.


Modernologio in Everyday Life Workshop

Workshop Designed and Facilitated By: TWO AND TWO MAKE FIVE STUDIO

The exhibition Serendipity in the Street employs the research method “Modernologio” to observe the Central community. Inspired by this methodology, the workshop will invite little observers and their parents to explore the architectural complex of Tai Kwun. The observation kit used in the workshop can be applied to the city and your home. Participants are encouraged to explore the details in everyday life and rediscover the hidden joy and values.

  • Each registration consists of one family pair (one adult with one child)
  • The activity will be held in Cantonese
  • There are sessions for participants aged 4-6 and aged 7-12, please select the suitable session

Play Space Reimagination Workshop

Workshop Designed and Facilitated By: Making on Loft

The exhibition Serendipity in the Street highlights the folk wisdom in adaptive use of space in Central. In the upcoming workshop, we will explore the possibility of creating play spaces for fun despite the spatial constraints in Hong Kong. .

Participants will be given a set of specially designed gear to build their own play space. You can bring home the creative output from this workshop and turn the spaces around you into your own playground.
