Every first and third Saturday of each month, an exciting line-up of established and up-and-coming Hong Kong musicians will gather at Tai Kwun’s Laundry Steps to offer an afternoon of light-hearted music. Curated by singer-songwriter Vicky Fung, an avid promoter of Cantopop, these Saturday afternoons will showcase the best of Hong Kong’s jazz, pop, independent and world music, where you will revisit and discover the musical talents of our city at the unique heritage site of Tai Kwun.

Trinity and Bros

Trinity is a folk band formed by Henry Chui, Barry Chung and Danny Cheng. Henry is a singer active in amateur folk performances. Barry’s musical talents continue to flourish throughout the years as his name continues to appear in different areas such as guitarist, arranger, backup singer etc. within the music scene. His compositions include Miriam Yeung “勇”, Joey Yung “特別嘉賓”, Shine “燕尾碟” and so on. Danny Cheng is an backup singer who performed in many world tour concerts with the well-known artists include George Lam, Sally Yeh, Anita Mui, Leslie Cheung, Roman Tam, Lowell Lo, Sandy Yip, Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Hacken Lee, Eason Chan, Hins Cheung and so on. In this performance, Trinity will perform together with the outstanding local musicians, Timothy Chan (Bassist), Damon Lau (Keyboardist) and Criag Lau (Drummer) as a 6 piece folk-rock band.


Tomii Chan + Jonathan Yang

Starting his career in Hong Kong since 2013, Tomii Chan is a music producer, composer and singer-songwriter. A versatile composer with notable skills in music productions – he employs sampling, recording of real instruments, programming, making noises, and whatever methods he thinks suitable into his music. Tomii released his debut album “Arrays” in August 2017 and the second album “Not A Good Day To Die” in May 2018, emphasizing on the styles of folk, blues, and country music. 

Jonathan Yang is a Hong Kong-based singer-songwriter. Started playing music to find his identities at a young age. His first band "Ketchup & Mustard" (2011- 2013) was formed at his art high school with a focus on alternative pop rock band with some flavors of blues, neo-soul and rock. Later on, he focused on solo performances and collaboration with other artists, including an electronic experimental trio with Billie Ho and music producer Paul Yip aka PALPAL (2014-2015). Jonathan's debut record/EP “It’s Time I Head South” was digitally released on 18th May 2017.


The Boogie Playboys

The Boogie Playboys is one of the few Rockabilly bands in Hong Kong with a special focus on performing classic tunes in Cantonese. Formed by vocal Felix, guitarist YKM, bassist Bluesman and drummer Barry, it is the only local band that play 50s old rockabilly music in Hong Kong. The Boogie Playboys was the only local act apart from Gem Tang to share the main stage with Franz Ferdinand and Chic ft. Nile Rodgers in Clockenflap 2013. Their debut album was released on 1 Dec, 2017 and the debut song “親親你面頰” charted at “903 Top 20” No.4 and “Metro Radio Local Chart” No.3. Always appear in the 50s rockabilly outfit with a touch of the 80s neo-rockabilly, the band shapes Hong Kong's contemporary rockabilly with the spirit of Sam Hui.
