Artist Speaker: Dr. Leung Mee Ping
Guest Speaker:Mr. Alex Tam
Moderator: Dr. Miha
We might find things that we see every day ordinary, but it is these little things that reveal our lives and softly pull on our heartstrings. Through curiosity, observation and imagination, we realise how important the smallest things in life are, as they connect us with ourselves, the society, the community, and even the history.
Artist Leung Mee Ping is a keen observer and often made sharp observations of the everyday life. She draws inspiration from small details and turns them into art. The Jockey Club Contemporary Art Literacy and Appreciation Programme (JCCALAP) is honoured to welcome Dr. Leung as the speaker of our seasonal talk to share her personal experience and artistic practice. She will also have a conversation with Mr. Alex Tam (the curator of the coming Tai Kwun Contemporary exhibition The Poetic Heritage: Artists’ Responses to Heritage Discourses) and the Programme Director of JCCALAP, Dr. Miha, to further explore how art can be found in everyday life.
*The artist’s talk will be conducted in Cantonese, with simultaneous interpretation from Cantonese to English available.
