General

Performing activities globally almost ground to a halt when the coronavirus outbreak hit the world earlier this year. In spite of that, the Hong Kong Arts Festival has been working tirelessly since last February to find the platform for the creative works of our artists. We are glad to announce that the HKartsFestival@TaiKwun will go online in October. It is also the first relaunch of the programmes of the 48th Hong Kong Arts Festival.

The HKartsFestival@TaiKwun [go online] will be broadcast live on our Facebook page on 10th and 11th of October. All the interactive performances, installation and creative workshops originally scheduled for the February event will be adapted for the digital platform. The format of presentation may not be the same as before. And yet, the artists’ commitment to igniting the audiences’ imagination with their artistic visions remains the same. Please follow https://www.facebook.com/hkaf.at.taikwun for online screening schedule.

We Are Back to Tai Kwun

As performance venues in Hong Kong have just been allowed to admit audience in October,

the HKartsFestival@TaiKwun will return to Tai Kwun’s Laundry Steps on 10-11 October. Apart from screenings of video programmes, a work-in-progress presentation of Fragile will be staged live on 10-11 October at 4pm. Besides, we have also prepared a special session of Sound Bath on 10 October at 6pm (one session only). At a time when social distancing is the new normal, establishing human connection through arts has taken on a new meaning. The activity schedule is as follows:
