Kung Chi-shing, the seminal figure in Hong Kong independent music, is invited to curate outstanding musical works from local and international musicians on the first Saturday afternoon of every month. Whether you enjoy classical music, pop or the truly "out there", prepare to have your musical horizons expanded at the unique heritage site as Kung sweeps the musical landscape.

01.09.18 Musician’s Biography:

Hoi Tuen

“Hoi Tuen”, a homophone of dolphins in Cantonese, represents the band’s vision to stay together to make music no matter where they are. Formed in September 2016, Hoi Tuen has since took part in various music productions and performances, including composition, performances, competitions and community visits. The band wishes to convey their passion to music to other people through their performance.

Maggie & Nelson Duo

Maggie Lo

Maggie earned her Bachelor’s Degree of Music Education with honour in The Education University of Hong Kong. Maggie also participates in all different music festivals actively such as, Taiwan International Guitar Festival, Hong Kong International Guitar Festival and The Instrument of Change Conference (MCM, University of Melbourne) etc. During her school years, Maggie joined “Music Education Immersion Program” that was held by The Hong Kong Institute of Education & The City University of New York, at which she received her music training in New York.

Nelson Ho

Born in Hong Kong, Nelson started playing Pipa in his early age. He was the winner of the Pipa senior division in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. To further he studies, he took guitar lessons with Mr. Chris Wong and obtained his Trinity LTCL Certificate with distinction. He has also played in the master classes of David Russell, Pepe Romero, Álvaro Pierri and Pavel Steidl etc. He also received his Grade 8 qualification in violin and electric guitar. Nelson is now a full-time music tutor and performer.

Wong Jing

Jing Wong has honed his music style - “Book Rock” by rich music influences in London from Blues to Folk to Rock. He was the opening act for Belle & Sebastian, Kings of Convenience and Andrew Bird in their tour to Hong Kong, and played the main stage at Music Festivals such as Clockenflap, Wow and Flutter, Freespace in West Kowloon promenade, OzAsia Festival 2016, Zandari Festival and PAMS festival in Seoul 2017.

In 2017, Jing Wong joined Frenzi Music and released his third and latest EP "Travelling in Youth". His upcoming project in Nov 2018 will be a series of solo theatre concert and the launch of an English album, both named "a spy in the house of love".
